For me to pick an organization is has to be something that stick outs to me. The main thing that I look for is that the organization quickly help someone. Lot's of organization are all about talk., speech, possibly even marches, but still does not seem to get anything done, I am a strong believer in actions speak louder than words.
1. The Love Kitchen: Is an area that is located near the down town area. They usually have events going on like donating your old clothes or being homeless and being able to receive s 3 course meal. On thanksgiving it feels good to feed the less fortunate.
2 Oasis Center: Is another center that is located down town. Its design to cater to the young teenagers who do not have a place to go for one reason or another. Just listening to their conversation you can tell that there soul is in need of someone who care to talk to them instead of them being tread like a no body
3. Salvation Army: Is a great job to go if you are trying to rid some room in your home. Its nice to see people take pride in what they choose to donate knowing that who ever gets the item that they are trading in will really benefit with the next person.
The main skill that you will need to have to work at all three of those job is not to be selfish. Understand that life challenges can happen to everyone and as soon as one gets cocky and think there life is elite is when that unfortunate disaster occurs. The best made plans that has been developed for years can fall apart in one night. So I challenge anyone to humble themselves and volunteer and of these locations just to be reminded that everyday is a blessings and don't take any breath for granted.
